The Kiwanis Club of Dougherty County supports the mission of Graceway Recovery in Albany, and on September 10 backed that up with a gift of $500 to the center. Graceway, located in the heart of Albany, is a long-term residential recovery center for woman battling drug and/or alcohol addiction. Liz Dixon, executive director of Graceway, revealed three troubling facts to the club: the mean age of their clients now is 19, the primary drug abused is oxycontin, and addicts often refer to themselves and their peers as the “Rx” Generation. Pictured, Dixon accepts a check from Kiwanis DoCo president Todd Butler.
