(ALBANY) – The Darton State College Cross Country teams finished second to Columbus State University at the Darton State College Invitaional race Saturday.
Sophomore Cody Mallchok led the Cavalier effort, blazing a 26:23 8K to finish fourth overall. Behind him were
The men’s team averaged a 27:40 8K and finished with 45 points. Columbus State won with 17 points and averaged 26:04. South Georgia College finished third with 83 points and a 30:11 average time.
Freshman Elena Oslund led the Lady Cavaliers’ 5K, running a 21:29 and finishing 7th overall. Alexis Skiles also finished among the top ten with a time of 21:42. Also scoring for the Lady Cavs were sophomores Hayden Clapper (11th), Jeronda Stringfield (17th) and Vanessa Pina (21st).
The Lady Cavs averaged 22:07 and scored 58 points. CSU scored a perfect 15. Georgia Southwestern State University, now coached by Darton XC alumna and 2007 GCAA champion Brittney Skiles, finished third with 91 points and a 23:17 average.
