August 10, 2012 (Leesburg, GA): Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-170 and O.C.G.A. 21-2-171, the nomination petition submitted by Tim Nelson to qualify as an independent candidate for County Commissioner District 4 has been reviewed. Upon conclusion of the review, the Lee County Board of Elections and Registration found that Mr. Nelson’s petition contained 250 valid signatures, which exceeds the number of 168 valid signatures required to qualify. Mr. Nelson’s name will be placed on the November 6th, 2012, General Election ballot as an Independent candidate.
Nelson commented on the news, “I am excited that the Elections Board validated my petition and has allowed my name to be placed on the November ballot.” He continued,” I plan to continue my” boots on the ground” campaign to inform the voters that they have an independent candidate in the mix who wants to cut spending and is not a rubber stamp for other board member’s agendas.” Finally, Nelson stated, “It has been a long time since this district

Tim Nelson is officially on the ballot for the Lee County Commission District Four race. He will challenge incumbent Rick Muggridge for the seat.has had to cast ballots for commissioner during a general election. I will work with local organizations to ensure all eligible citizens in the district are registered to vote.”
