One dead, others injured in shooting

Albany, Ga.- Albany police were called to the Shackleford Shopping Center early this morning where one man was killed, four other people were injured – three to gunshot wounds and one to a high heel shoe hitting them in the head.  Police were initially called after a large fight broke out in the parking lot.  Shots were reportedly fired as officers arrived.

The injured included the following:

  • 28 year old Montravious Luke was reported to have been shot in the chest and on his side.
  • 21 year old Whitney Williams reportedly suffered a gun shot wound to her upper left thigh.
  • 24 year old Kelvin Drake was shot in both hands.
  • 31 year old Cartez Haines was hit in the head with a high heel shoe.

In addition, 24 year old Dontavious Luke was killed in the incident.

Police are asking anyone with any information about this incident to contact them by calling 436-TIPS.
