Staff Reports

Albany, Ga - A bomb scare delayed staff members from entering from the Wynnsong 16 theater, owned by Carmike Cinemas.  The scare was just one of many across the nation as the Columbus, Ga based theater chain became the target of a threat.  Reportedly, the threat extended well past Georgia’s borders and extended to Carmike’s properties throughout the nation.  The threat was allegedly called into the chain’s headquarters, stating that bombs had been planted throughout.

Reports across the nation tell the story of police looking for explosives in Tennessee, Texas, Illinois, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Oklahoma as well as Georgia and several other states.  So far, officials have not reported any explosives being found, nor have they reported any motive for the threats as Albany joins the many communities throughout the nation that have fallen victim to this scare.

The Journal will continue to cover this story and share more details as we learn them.
