That’s what Travis Eaddy had on July 31 at the All American fun park bowling alley as he became the first teen in 17 years in Albany, and the first teen ever at All American to roll a perfect 300 game. Travis said he has come close to rolling a perfect game before when he rolled a 288. Travis is part of a league that the teams are made up with of a mix of adults and youth. The night of his perfect game Travis finished up with a series of 709.
Last night Eaddy received a great trophy from James Blackwell, the manager of the Fun Park Lanes, and his picture was placed on the wall in the lobby to honor his accomplishment. I spoke to Eaddy who said he has been bowling for the past eight years and that there were a lot of times he wanted to quit, but he always stuck with it. Travis said that he never got nervous during the game but he did notice it was kind of like throwing a no hitter in baseball as no one around him was talking to him at all as he got to the 9th frame; they didn’t want to jinx it for him.
Talking to Blackwell, he said the facility has been open for 3 years and in that time there has been 13 perfect games bowled there. As a matter of fact there was another rolled on July 30th just the night before Eaddy rolled his. Blackwell credits the way he and his staff prepare and maintain the lanes for the number of perfect games that have been bowled there in such a short amount of time.
