The Albany Area YMCA is partnering with PT Gym of Albany to provide personal training services for YMCA members and non-members at the YMCA Central Facility or Lee Branch. In this exclusive arrangement with the YMCA, PT Gym will provide nationally-certified and experienced trainers to work with members one-on-one or in small group settings to achieve the participant’s fitness goals. Regardless of age or fitness level, one-on-one training can provide weight-loss management, increased strength, endurance and flexibility, post-rehabilitation conditioning, disease management and prevention, off-season training for athletes, and pre-event conditioning.

“PT Gym specializes in personal training services,” says Mary Ganzel, YMCA Senior Program Director, “We wanted to offer this expertise to our members and to anyone else in the community who may want to use YMCA facilities while receiving personalized assistance with their fitness routine.”

PT Gym owner Perry Buchanan calls the partnership with the Y a “strategic alliance that is a win-win-win situation.”  According to Buchanan, “The Y will have a higher level of professional training services to offer its members, PT Gym trainers will have the opportunity to work with many more clients in the community, and members of the community will have additional options for training locations.” Personal trainers will construct a personal fitness plan for their clients that may include the use of YMCA cardio and weight machines, free weights, swimming pool, and running/walking track.

Both one-hour and half-hour personal training sessions are available. For more information or to make an appointment, call the Albany Area YMCA at 436-0531, or the Lee Branch YMCA at 759-9770.
