Top left and right the 200 block of Broad Avenue, middle left Court Alley, middle right Washington Street, bottom the 200 block of Pine Avenue. All these buildings and more were razed in the mid 1980′s to make way for the Government Center, the School Administration building, the Federal Courthouse, the Dougherty County Tax Assessor’s Office, and two parking garages. The only building in the entire city block that was not razed was the old marble bank building that currently houses the Chamber of Commerce. These and many other photos can be found on the Vintage Albany Georgia Facebook site.
