Deborah Neff was honored recently by the Kiwanis Club of Dougherty County and Kiwanis of Dougherty Foundation. At the club’s March 26 meeting she was presented a special recognition plaque for her contribution five years ago to establish a special University of Georgia scholarship now awarded annually by the foundation. In memory of her husband Greg Neff after his tragic death in a traffic accident, and in honor of Dougherty Kiwanians Alan and Marilyn Greer and Gene and Catherine Clark for playing a vital supporting role in her life, Mrs. Neff donated $20,000 to the foundation from which to fund gifts to deserving students applying to the university. To date four $2,000 scholarships have been awarded from the gift and more will be announced in the future. Mrs. Neff is shown accepting the plaque from Kiwanis Club of Dougherty County Foundation chair Scott Brown.
