The Albany Area YMCA will hold the 2012 Boot Camp Challenge on March 17 from 9-11 a.m. at the Central Facility, 1701 Gillionville Road. The Boot Camp Challenge is designed to test the participants’ level of agility, flexibility, strength, power and endurance through a series of events such as 1000M Row, Box Jump, Tire Flip, Squat Press, Sandbag Shuttle and more. Each competitor is encouraged to challenge themselves and strive for their personal best. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female competitor. The Y will offer future Boot Camp Challenges so that participants can measure their improvement over time.
The Boot Camp Challenge is free for YMCA members, and non-members will pay a $10 entry fee.
T-shirts are available for purchase and spectators are welcome. To participate, register at the YMCA. Registration is open the day of the event if spaces are available. Spaces are limited, so register early to ensure a spot. For more information, call 436-0531, ext. 222.
