The good work done in the community by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany is supported by gifts from local organizations. Ed Deming (left), executive director of the clubs, recently accepted a $500 donation from the Kiwanis Club of Dougherty County, which was presented by club president Todd Butler at the Kiwanis club’s March 5 meeting. The Boys & Girls Clubs provide programs and after-school activities for youths designed to keep them occupied and out of the grasp of gangs as well as promote academic and civic achievement. The occasion also prompted announcement of this year’s Steak & Burger dinner fundraiser, slated for March 22, which is being chaired by DoCo Kiwanian Dorene Parker.
