Staff Reports

Members of the Westover High School Future Business Leaders of America chapter were recently visited by State House Representative Carol Fullerton and DCSS School Board Member Carol Tharin.  The FBLA members heard from Mrs. Fullerton on the changes in local districts that occurs every ten years.

Fullerton also answered questions from the students about state government. She invited students to share their opinions with her through emails or phone calls.

Mrs. Tharin updated FBLA members about plans for the Career Academy which the Dougherty County School System has been pursuing as a means of training “work ready” students in Dougherty County. Tharin also encouraged the organization’s members to become an active part of the community through volunteer service.

The FBLA members pass along their appreciation to Mrs. Tharin and Mrs. Fullerton taking time out of their busy schedules to visit the school and speak with them.

The FBLA is the largest student organization geared towards helping to develop business leaders in the nation today.  Along with its sister organization that serves college students, Phi Beta Lamda, they serve over a quarter of a million students preparing for business or business related careers.
