Thomas Michael “Mike” Coleman

Thomas Michael “Mike” Coleman passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.  His remains have been cremated and no services will be held at this time.

Survivors include his daughter, Teresa Myer and her husband, Frank of Santa Maria, Calif., three grandchildren, Jacob, Josh and Natalie Myer, his brothers, David J. Coleman and his wife, Mary Jo of Las Vegas, N.V., Steven P. Coleman and his wife, Dawn of Valdosta, Ga. and a special friend, Shannon Akins of Albany, and the Akins family of Leesburg, Ga. and the mother of his daughter Teresa, Juanita Ranis.  Mr. Coleman is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas H. and Evelyn B. Coleman and a sister, Jeanine C. Bauer.

Mr. Coleman was retired from Ayers Aircraft as a Quality Control Tech. and was a licensed pilot.  He served in the US Navy as an Aircraft Mechanic and had a passion and love for flying.

Lucille Cloer Murdock, 96

Lucille Cloer Murdock, 96 of Community Ave. in Albany died February 27, 2012 at Lee County Health Care.

Funeral services will be Thursday 11 a.m at Putney United Methodist Church. Rev. Cathy Green officiating. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native of Statesville, N.C., Mrs. Murdock was retired from the Daily Press as a news reader in Newport News, Va. She was a longtime resident in the Putney area, where she was a member of Putney United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Janet M. Bowen and her husband Bobby of Albany, grandchildren, David Bowen and his wife Barbara of Senoia, Ga. and Laura Shearer and her husband Bruce of Albany, great-grandchildren, Daniel Cook, Julie Bowen, Jennifer Copelan, Jessica Jones and Lauren Jones, great-great grandchildren, Chase Copelan and Cameron Johnston.

Mrs. Murdock was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Mason Clyde Murdock, and brothers, Marvin and James Cloer.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kimbrell-Stern.
