Darton College Women’s Soccer will enter the national championship tournament to face a familiar adversary, according to the NJCAA’s recently announced tournament seeding.

The No. 3-seeded Lady Cavaliers are matched up with No. 6-seed Monroe Community College (N.Y.), the team who broke the Lady Cavaliers’ near-perfect season (25-1) at the 2005 national championship final in Phoenix. Monroe won 2-1, putting an end to a top-notch Darton soccer team that still holds the national records for most wins and most consecutive wins.

This first-round match is scheduled to begin on Nov. 17, at noon, in Melbourne, Fla. The venue is yet to be announced, but will likely be either Melbourne Central Catholic Church or Viera Regional Park.

The match, as well as all other contests in the tournament, will be video-steamed live via webcast on NJCAA TV and http://spacecoastsportstv.com/.  A link will be available on the Darton College Athletics website: http://cavs.darton.edu/. The live webcasts will also feature video clips highlighting Darton College Athletics.

If Darton wins, they’ll play the victor of game three – either Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa or Scottsdale Community College (Ariz.) – on Nov. 18, at 2 p.m.

“It’s about what I expected,” Darton College women’s soccer coach Ken Veilands said of the seeding. “We gotta win to win it all.”

The following is a list of tournament information taken from the NJCAA website:
