WHITE IS IN

By   /   July 14, 2011  /   Comments

Saying he has the political track record and the professional contacts to improve Albany’s declining status statewide, former state Rep. John White formally announced his plans Thursday to enter the Albany mayor’s race. White said he would have run for mayor sooner, but that stepped aside so others could run. “There’s so much to do and I can hit the ground running,” he said. Other mayoral candidate are City Commissioner Dorothy Hubbard, businessman Kirk Smith and restaurateur B.J. Fletcher. The nonpartisan race is Nov. 8; two-term Mayor Willie Adams says he will not seek re-election.
