The Albany State University men’s basketball program will host basketball camps next week for youths interested in learning basketball skills. The 12th annual Golden Rams Basketball Camps include the Fundamental and Elite camp on July 18-20. The camps, which will be held at Albany State’s HPER Gymnasium Arena, are open to boys and girls age six to 18.
The Fundamental Camp will be conducted from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m., and the Elite Camp will be conducted from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
The camps will offer instructions on shooting fundamentals, dibbling, passing, defense and teach the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. There will be enrichment sessions throughout the camp that will focus on drug awareness, time management, and the importance of education, according to head coach Chris Cameron.
“This is a great opportunity for youth to come and learn about the game of basketball,” Cameron said. “It is a fact that the more you work on your basketball skills, the better you will become. The Golden Rams Basketball Camp will offer youths insight and knowledge that will positively impact their game and life. Furthermore, campers will get the chance to interact with college basketball players and coaches throughout the camp.”
For more information or to register for the camp, call the Albany State University Athletics Department at 229-430-4754 or Cameron at 229-430-4756.
