This undated post card is of the Broad Avenue Memorial Bridge in Albany. This concrete and steel bridge spanning the Flint River was built in 1931 as a memorial to Dougherty County veterans of World War I. It contains two brass plaques imbedded in the seating areas on the bridge. One plaque was the dedication speech given for the bridge; the other is dedicated to the area men and women that served in World War I. The bridge is closed to all traffic due to safety concerns and may be repaired. This and more than 2,000 other images are available online at Vintage Albany Georgia on Facebook.
