This photo from the Facebook group, Vintage Albany, is circa 1954. It shows teacher Anna Bland and her students at the Eleventh Avenue School, also known as the Mill Village School. This small school was near the mill at Eleventh Avenue and Monroe Street and was exclusively for the children of mill employees. Anna Bland came to Albany in 1945 to teach at this school. She later taught at other schools in Albany and was also a piano teacher for many years.
