ATLANTA – A Blakely woman has scored a jumbo Georgia Lottery win. Jacquelyn Henderson, 61, played the instant game Jumbo Bucks Classic and won $50,000.
“It’s great,” she said. “Wonderful.”
Riverside Travel Center, 3946 Lower River Road in Blakely, sold the lucky top prize ticket. Henderson scratched the ticket in the store.
According to Henderson, her lottery win will be used to help her family.
“I’ve got one daughter and one granddaughter,” she said. “We’re just going to use it wisely.”
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $12.5 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.3 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
