Banks Expand Mortgage Services in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE — June 2, 2011 — Chattahoochee Bank of Georgia and HeritageBank of the South are pleased to announce a lending collaboration which will expand mortgage services in the region. Chattahoochee Bank of Georgia, a locally owned community bank, which opened for business in the fall of 2008, has seen steady growth in deposits and loans. The Bank was looking for a cost-effective way to offer mortgage solutions to its customers and the community as a whole.

HeritageBank of the South, a community bank formed in 1955 in Albany, has been focused in 2011 on entering into new markets exclusively with mortgage services. Some other areas HeritageBank is opening Mortgage offices include LaGrange, McDonough, Alpharetta, and Warner Robins. With Chattahoochee Bank looking to expand their products to include mortgages and HeritageBank focusing on growing their mortgage division, this collaboration will allow the two institutions to achieve both their goals.

In addition, the Banks are excited to announce the hiring of two Gainesville mortgage veterans, Nancy Greeson and Karen Widner. With over 10 years of mortgage loan experience, Nancy Greeson joins the HBOS Mortgage Division having previously served as a mortgage officer with Wells Fargo Mortgage and SunTrust Bank. Joining her is Karen Widner, a 13 year expert in mortgage lending at SunTrust Bank. Prior to their tenure as mortgage officers, Greeson served as SunTrust’s Marketing Director for the Gainesville area and Widner served as SunTrust’s Marketing Director in Brunswick. Assisting the team is Kerry Farmer, who has a combined nine years of experience as a loan processor at SunTrust, Guaranty Residential and Regions Mortgage. Widner, Greeson and Farmer will be employed by HeritageBank and housed in the Chattahoochee Bank of Georgia location on E. E. Butler Parkway.
