Vintage Albany Facebook member Ray Usrey posted this photo of the telephone switchboard and operators at the office downtown, taken in 1954. Members commented on the long work hours and the uncomfortable seating the operators endured during their shifts. Several members had either worked for the phone company or had parents that had during that time period. The work was hard and confusing, but the pay was good.
