On March 26 there will be an “Explosion of Beauty and Charm” on the Albany State University Campus as four lovely ladies vie for the coveted title of Miss Albany State University 2011-2012. The contest of beauty, intelligence and grace will begin at 3 p.m. in ACAD Auditorium. At that same venue, two young men will compete for the title of Mr. Royal Gentleman 2011-2012.
Candidates for Miss ASU include Janelle Parker and Natalie Lewis, both junior mass communication majors; Neshaszda Brown, a junior middle grades education major; and Christina Welch, a sophomore forensic science major.
Christopher Atkinson, a junior speech and theatre major, and Antwan Jackson, a junior mass communication major, are the candidates for Mr. Royal Gentleman.
The Miss ASU hopefuls will be judged in the areas of oratorical, business, talent, swim and evening wear, and an on-stage interview. The Mr. Royal Gentleman candidates will be judged on their opening presentations, a business and an oratorical performance, evening wear and an interview.
Kendria Bailey, Miss ASU 2006-2007, will give a special solo performance at the event. The program will conclude with the presentation of the 2011-2012 Mr. Royal Gentleman and 2011-2012 Miss ASU and her royal court.
