A musical concert to benefit local charities will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at First Monumental Faith Baptist Church, 3404 Gillionville Road. The concert is sponsored by Hands of Hope.

Bronwood Baptist Church will host a Ladies Spring Luncheon from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The theme is “Getting real with God: The first step toward personal revival.”

The Women’s Ministry of Central Baptist Church will host the “Going Beyond” live simulcast with Priscilla Shirer. The event starts Friday with a Chocolate Fellowship at 7 p.m. and a Saturday prayer session begins at 8:30. Continental breakfast will be served at 9:15. Macedonia Baptist Church is sponsoring its eighth annual Holy Smoke Bar-B-Que Cookoff, a Christian grilling competition, at the Old Centerpoint School in Preston.
