Beast Jr. a big hit

By   /   March 9, 2011  /   Comments

The Twin Oaks Elementary School Drama Club’s production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. opened with huge success last weekend, drawing more than 600 guests. Additional shows will be performed this Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. Before, during and after the performance, guests are able to enjoy souvenirs, food, beverages and other special treats in a concession stand set up to look like a quiet provincial town straight from the musical. Fifty-five students in grades 3-5 (ages 8-11) are performing in the show, including fourth-grader Pressley McClure (“Belle”, in left photo) and third-grader Keith Peacock (“Beast”). Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students. The box office is open at 5:30 p.m. each night before the show and tickets may be purchased during school. Space is limited, for information, call 903-2253.
