Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors at its March 8 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors met on Tuesday, March 8, 2011.
The Board reviewed and approved 188 applicants seeking registration as a professional engineer by comity; 147 applications for regular applicants seeking certification as a professional engineer; 191 engineers-in-training; six land surveyors; 14 land surveyors-in-training; three applications for reinstatement as a professional engineer; 64 applications for professional engineer firms; and 14 applications for land surveyor firms.
The Board voted to accept the following Cease and Desist Orders for unlicensed practice:
  • Darrell McGee, Albany
  • Lamcon Inc, Decatur
The Board voted to accept the following Consent Order placing the PE license on probation for 12 months as a result of sanctions by another state:
  • Donald G. Cochran; Chelsea, AL
The Board voted to accept the following Consent Order assessing a $2000 fine for assisting unlicensed practice:
  • Johan Jacob Van Der Watt, Thomasville
The Board voted to accept the following Consent Order for renewal of PE license placing the license on probation concurrent with criminal probation:
  • Hamid Hosseini; Fort Lauderdale, FL
The Board voted to accept the following Consent Order assessing a $1500 fine for practicing LS Services with a lapsed license:
  • Thomas Dobson; Kimball, TN
The Board voted to accept the following Consent Order placing the PE license on probation to run concurrent with MO probation:
  • Stephen Maslan; Kansas City, MO
The Board voted to accept the following Consent Order for renewal of PE license placing the license on probation concurrent with NY and assessing a $500 fine:
  • Michael Gerazounis; New York, NY
The Board voted to accept the following Consent Order placing the PE license on probation for 12 months to run concurrent with probationary periods in AL and VA and assess a $500 fine:
  • David Hersterlee, Carrollton
The Board voted to accept the following Consent Order for renewal of the PE license placing the license on probation for 24 months due to sanctions by AL board:
  • Dean Allen Rafferty; Minneapolis, MN
The Georgia State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors will hold its next meeting Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division office in Macon.
