A youth organization at Magnolia Elementary School in Albany is working to make life a little better for some underprivileged people in their community. The K-Kids group, under the guidance of parent facilitator Sandy Sledge, kicked off a canned food drive on January 21. It’s their first service project and is being conducted in conjunction with the Albany Golden K Kiwanis Club. Donations collected by the students and Golden K are being turned over to Neighbors in Need for distribution to eligible families. The drive will continue throughout most of March. Pictured with donated items are the K-Kids and Golden K members Bill Graff and Jo Ann Wright.
