ALBANY- The Georgia College Athletic Association announced sophomore Dorine Minala as the GCAA Player of the Week. It is the first Player of the Week award any DC basketball player has received this season.
The Kenya native averaged 20 points and 23 rebounds in Darton’s last two victories versus East Georgia College and Middle Georgia College.
At East Georgia, Minala had 16 points and collected a career-high 24 rebounds. In the Middle Georgia victory she followed up with another double-double tallying 22 points and snagging 22 rebounds.
“Dorine has improved so much since stepping foot on this campus,” said head coach Laura Blackwell. “She has become a big time post presence for us and the team is feeding off of her.”
Darton will face Andrew College (3-8 in Region XVII; 10-17 overall) at home on Friday, Feb. 11 at 5:30 PM. It is their annual “Pink Out” Night. Please wear pink to support the awareness of Breast Cancer.
