ALBANY–Darton ended their regular season play with an emotional victory on Saturday versus cross-town rivals, Albany Tech. The Lady Cavs won by a score of 70-58 in a very physical game. The victory sewed up the No. 3 seeding for post-season play ending the season at 8-6 in Region XVII and 17-13 overall.
DC honored their sophomores and the class of 2000 NJCAA District H Championship women’s basketball team during halftime.
Freshman, Christina Brown led all scorers with a game-high 18 points. Auburn Randolph was also a spark early offensively as she finished with 14 points.
“This was my Sophomore Night,” Randolph said. “And I wanted to win so I gave it my all and my team was right behind me.”
Dorine finished with eight points and 11 rebounds.
The Georgia Perimeter Lady Jags captured the regular season championship going undefeated during the regular season with a 14-0 conference record. In going undefeated the Lady Jags gain the No. 1 seed in this week’s state tournament. South Georgia Tech Lady Jets finished in second place gaining the No. 2 seed. Darton will have the third seed and Albany Tech the fourth seed. Middle Georgia, Andrew, Atlanta Metro and E. Georgia finish as the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th seeds, respectively.
DC will host Andrew College at 6:00 PM in the Cavalier Arena on Wednesday, Feb. 23 in the quarterfinals of the Region XVII Tournament.

All of the quarterfinals will be played Wed. Feb. 23rd at the top four seeds home court. The semi-finals and final will be held at Darton College on Fri. Feb. 25th and Sat. Feb. 26th at 5:30 and 7:30.
Admission for the tournament will be $5/day for adults and $2 for grades K-12. Coaches, Players, Presidents, Athletic Directors, Student Managers, and Bus Drivers will be admitted free.
