Actions Taken by the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology at its February 7 Meeting

Macon, Ga.—The Georgia State Board of Cosmetology met on Monday, February 7, 2011.   The Board voted to deny five applications for licensure.   The Board voted to terminate the probation sanction for the following licensee:

  • Jamal Lee, Augusta

The Board voted to dismiss a citation for the following establishment:

  • Hair Ways Salon, Martinez

The Board voted to accept payment for fines resulting from citations against the following individuals or establishments:

  • Pretty 1 Nail Salon, Albany
  • Elsa’s Hair Salon, Atlanta
  • Glorious Hair Salon LLC, Atlanta
  • Nail Stop Salon, Atlanta
  • Michael’s School of Beauty, Augusta
  • Nghia Trinh Nguyen, Augusta
  • Miller Nails, Colquitt
  • Meme’s Beauty Experience, Cordele
  • Notion Nails Salon, Ellenwood
  • Nails Show, Fayetteville
  • Q Nails, Kingsland
  • Nice Nails Salon, Newnan
  • Nail Star Salon, Norcross
  • Judy’s Nails, Peachtree City
  • Kim Nguyen, Tucker
  • Nails By Chris, Valdosta
  • New York Nails Club, Valdosta

The Board voted to uphold citations against the following individuals or establishments:

  • Nail Spa Salon, Albany
  • Karon Reddick, Albany
  • Exotic Eye Hair Studio, Atlanta
  • Hair Masters Beauty, Atlanta
  • Key Lime Pie Hair Beauty, Atlanta
  • New Nails Nail Shop, Atlanta
  • Nail Spa Salon, Atlanta
  • Ingrid A Edmondson, Austell
  • Meldora Hair Salon, Decatur
  • Elegance Coiffeurs Beauty Salon, Decatur
  • Maria Antionette Suttle, Fayetteville
  • Lovely Nails By Julie, Hinesville
  • Future Cuts II, Jonesboro
  • The Polish Bar Nail Salon, Lithia Springs
  • Pro Nails, Macon
  • Lovely Nails II, Toccoa
  • Jaebeze Barber Shop & Salon, Valdosta

The Board voted to uphold citations but reduce the fines against the following individuals or establishments:

  • Hollywood Nails Salon, Atlanta
  • Martha’s Glamorous Boutique, Dawson
  • Da-Vi Nails Salon, Thomson

The Board voted to dismiss citations against the following establishments:

  • Lanier Day Spa, Gainesville
  • J&M Hair Braiding & Beauty Supply II, Jonesboro

The Board voted to grant continuances for hearings on citations against the following individuals or establishments:

  • Dynasty Total Look, Decatur
  • Rhonda Bates Marte, Lithonia
  • Fidel’s Signature Salon, Stone Mountain

The Georgia State Board of Cosmetology will hold its next meeting Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division office in Macon.
