UP, DOWN, UP: OH, CHRISTMAS TREE!

In an hour’s time on Monday, an Albany Water, Gas & Light Commission crew harvested a 30-foot Leland cypress from Lillie Crawford’s front yard at 1903 Colquitt Ave. and erected it in front of the Albany-Dougherty Judicial Building at 225 Pine Ave. The tree will be ceremoniously lit during the 20th annual Celebration of Lights Christmas Parade at 6 p.m. Saturday in downtown Albay. Festivities begiin at 5 p.m. with food vendors and live entertainment in the 20 block of Pine and Broad avenues.
