The Darton College men’s and women’s teams concluded the SCAD College Invitational on Saturday, at the Chatham County Aquatic Center with a third-place finish for the men’s team and fourth place for the women’s team. While Wingate won the men’s and women’s meets, Darton had 10 individual top-10 finishes among the men and five top-10 finishes among the women.
Wally Senter finished fourth in the 200-yard Breaststroke (2:22.91), which was best finish on the men’s side. He took home sixth place in the 1650-yard Freestyle. Senter also took home two eighth place finishes, one in the100-yard Breaststroke clocking in at 1:07.00 and the other in the 500-yard Freestyle.
Jamie Bolton finished fifth in the 100-yard Backstroke (54.96). Peter Soerensen finished sixth in the 200-yard Butterfly (2:05.15).
Linn Nordberg had the best individual finish of the meet finishing second in the 100-yard butterfly, breaking the school record with a time of 59.45. Nordberg finished fourth in the 200-yard butterfly with a cut time of 2:13.65. Nordberg also finished ninth in the 100-yard freestyle.
Wendy Wells took home a 10th place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.35).
DC returns to action after the break on Jan. 8 at home versus the University of Cumberlands at 5 pm.
