Andrew Stuart Donnan Jr, 75, of Albany, died Saturday, October 23, 2010, at his residence. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. Rev. Finbarr Stanton will officiate.
A Native of Washington, DC, Mr. Donnan had resided in Albany, GA since 1979. A veteran of the Navy he was a Contract Specialist for the Defense Department at the Marine Corps Logistic Base and was a paramedic with the Dougherty County EMS. Mr. Donnan was a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. He and his wife were foster parents, active in the GA Philosophy School and charter members of Urbana volunteer fire and rescue in Urbana, MD. Mr. Donnan had a private pilot’s license and was a member of Albany Flying Club. He was active in Church going on mission trips, working with Habitat for Humanity and prison ministry. Played the French horn in Albany Community Band and was a friend of Bill W.
Survivors include his wife of fifty one years, Florence Donnan of Albany, GA, two daughters, Charlotte Donnan (Stan) Hall of Macon, GA and Sara Donnan of Albany, GA, four sons, Andrew Stuart (Sarah) Donnan, III of Albany, GA, Dr. Peter Arthur (Elizabeth) Donnan of Leesburg, GA, Dr. Paul Donnan (Wendy) Donnan of Atlanta, GA and Christopher Allen (Lori) of Albany, GA, two sisters, Ruth DeSimone and Courtney Mattingly both of Dallas TX and seventeen grandchildren.
