There is no need to worry! The rumors are not true! Tickets for the SIAC showdown between the undefeated No. 8 Albany State University Golden Rams and the No. 19 Morehouse College Maroon Tigers, set for Saturday, Oct. 23, are still available, according to Morehouse College athletic administrators.
“The game is not sold out,” said Athletics Director Andre Pattillo. “We will have enough tickets available for sale at the gate for Albany State fans.”
Many Albany State fans heard rumors on Monday that the game was sold out because of the enormity of the game. Plus, the Maroon Tigers, who enter the game at 6-1 overall and 5-1 in SIAC play, will celebrate their homecoming on Saturday.
“We have received several telephone calls and emails from our Golden Rams fans who are concerned that there is a lack of tickets for the Morehouse game,” ASU Athletics Director Richard H. Williams said. “It’s a big game for both schools because it could impact the outcome of the SIAC championship. A lot is riding on this game and our fans don’t want to miss it.”
General admission tickets are $20 and $15 for students, including Albany State students, with valid fall 2010 identification cards. Tickets are currently on sale at the Morehouse Bookstore and will go on sale Saturday at 8 a.m. at B.T. Harvey Stadium in Atlanta, according to Valerie Weems, ticket manager at Morehouse. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
“We’ve been assured that there are plenty of tickets for our fans,” Williams said. “All fans will just have to arrive early enough to purchase tickets or be patient as they purchase tickets closer to game time. But there’s no need to worry.”
