Congressman Sanford Bishop recently held a meeting in the 2nd Congressional District at a senior center where he discussed with those attending the many profound and detrimental effects a change in the leadership of the Congress would bring about to programs affecting them. The congressman deviated from the truth or the whole truth.
This scare tactic has been used by the Democrat Party for years in an effort to sway voters from the truth and into a belief that those rascal Republicans are going to destroy Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. How absurd! I cannot imagine any holder of public office attempting to destroy those programs. An attempt to radically change those three programs would result in that person being removed in the next election cycle, providing they are found out and exposed with the correct facts.
Each one of us should endeavor to not let voters in this election or any other election be hoodwinked by slick politicians. I believe that our Congressman has been in office so long that he has ceased to be a representative and has become a politician. It is time for a change.
