Bishop not ‘representative’

By   /   October 15, 2010  /   Comments

The voters of the Second Congressional District deserve to be represented by a congressman who believes in a republican form of government as referenced by the small “r” i.e. a government in which the people elect officials to perform the will of the voters. My views are not and have not been properly represented for over 17 years and it is not because I have not articulated those views.

To check on your views and compare to the record the record of Mr. Sanford Bishop, go to www.ontheissues.org/GA/Sanford_Bishop.htm. Apparently, Mr. Bishop legislates from his own personal beliefs and those passed on to him by his party. He refuses to hear and heed the wishes of the people.

As an example, almost two years ago, he was the featured speaker at a local Chamber of Commerce annual affair as the main speaker. I was anticipating  a detailed report on BRAC, a report on area legislation, an area economic report or something uplifting and informative. Instead of a report or inspirational speech, the message was I heard was a diatribe on the “failed policies of the administration”. That night was the proverbial “straw” for me. I believe we need change.
