On Friday, Oct. 29, the Albany State Early Learning Center will host a fall festival that’s free and open to the public. It will last from 1 until 3:30 p.m. at the center with the help of ELC parents and ASU student volunteers. Activities for children will include a fishing table, cake walk, face painting, NASA space ice cream, an art table and more.
Jeanette Lucas, director of the Early Learning Center, is excited about the event.
“I am hoping the community, Albany State and the City of Albany, will see the great things we are doing with the children here,” Lucas said. “We are preparing them for the future. This is also a great activity for parents to enjoy and spend time with their children. We’re creating family time, family fun!”
The Early Learning Center opened Aug. 1, 2007, and includes classes for children ages 2 through pre-kindergarten. ASU students – including education, nursing and music majors – receive hands-on training by observing and working with the ELC students.
