The Darton Aqua Darts, an Albany Area USA Swimming club team that swims at Darton College, will travel to Columbus, Ga., to compete in the Hurricane Fall Classic on Oct. 29-30.
“We are very excited about the Columbus Hurricane Fall Classic. I can see our hard work paying off at practice. The swimmers are really starting to take to everything the coaching staff has been teaching. We have been swimming very fast times at practice and have really improved on our technique. We are in position to place very well individually at this meet” says first-year coach Will Breehl.
The Columbus Hurricane Fall classic will host more than 200 athletes ages 5-18 from eight teams from throughout Georgia. Trophies will be awarded for first-15th place in the 10-and-under age groups, and first-eighth place in the11-and-over age groups. Team trophies for first-third place will e awarded.
“Having trophies for the kids is really cool and adds excitement to the meet. They’re like a badge of honor and they will always have something to remember the meet by. We are looking to take home a lot of hardware,” Breehl said
