The undefeated Albany State University Golden Rams continue to climb to the top in the national football polls. after going 4-0 in their 2010 football season.
Now 5-0 on the season, the Golden Rams moved up three notches in the American Football Coaches Association’s (AFCA) 2010 Division II Football Coaches’ Poll, which was released Monday. Albany State received 365 points and moved to the No. 11 spot from No. 14 after slaying the Lane College Dragons 43-13.
Morehouse College and Tuskegee University also moved up in the AFCA poll. Morehouse College, also 5-0, moved to No. 16 from the No. 18 slot; and Tuskegee jumped from No. 22 to No. 18 in the poll.
The Golden Rams hold on to their No. 1 spot in the Heritage Sports Radio Network’s Division II football poll, with Morehouse at No. 3 and Tuskegee at No. 4. The Rams remain at No. 3 in the Sheridan Broadcasting Network (SBN) Black College Football Poll, and at No. 4 in the Boxtorow.com/Black Athlete.com HBCU Media Top 10 poll.
The Golden Rams will celebrate Homecoming 2010 against the Miles College Golden Bears on Saturday, Oct. 9. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at the Albany State University Coliseum in Albany, Ga.
