Traveling this journey called life, we have all made wrong turns. Going the wrong way, happens to the best of us. However, once we realize that we made a detour from our intended destination, it would be unwise to continue in the same direction. As I behold the condition of our country, I am persuaded that we have made a wrong turn. But, there is a solution to our dilemma.
God said, “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.(II Chronicles 7:14) The future of our country doesn’t look favorable. But, there is hope in the midst of despair-Jesus Christ.
Our world is spinning out of control. Nevertheless, if we would humble ourselves, pray and seek God’s direction we would see our world turning in our favor. There is so much pride in our society, but the way to God is through humility. We have sought many avenues for change; why not seek God to bring transformation. What do we have to lose?
Another aspect to get God’s favor is to turn from wickedness. I know that’s hard for many because human beings like to have things their way. That’s the problem with our world today too many of us have had it our way and forgot God’s way. Can’t we see when man is left to himself he comes to nothing? But if a person will allow God to control his life, God will make his life beautiful and meaningful.
We must put aside wickedness: murder, lying, stealing, sexual immorality, and apostasy-turning away from God. Our country was established upon a belief in Almighty God. We must recognize our sin of leaving that foundation and repent and return. We must hold our spiritual and political leaders accountable to help turn this nation back to God.
Our land is sick, our nation is sick, our world is sick. God wants to heal us. But we must allow Him to do so. God is a loving father; He doesn’t want this world to decay, but He trusted it to man. So God has to wait until man time is up before He takes it back. For example when we rent out property, we may not like what happens to it. But we are restricted from doing certain things until the lease is up. God is waiting for the lease to expire then He will judge us for our actions.
As a servant of Jesus Christ, I ask that we consider our ways and turn back to God before it’s too late.
