Some things don’t make sense.
Yet others are just plain stupid.
Like letting a CEO to hire people after he or she has been forced to resign.
That’s today’s Albany City Commission for you.
First, the City Commission reluctantly forced City Manager Alfred Lott to resign, but has given him more than a year to clean out of his office. (The departure date cold be moved up on Tuesday, after the Journal’s deadline; the commission had an executive session planned.) Yet, our esteemed “leaders” – led by Mayor Willie Adams and Commissioner Tommie Postell, are allowing Lott to hire a downtown manager and Civic Center director?!
Not only did Lott famously failed miserably with those two departmental appointments the first time around, along with other hiring mishaps, Lott and his staff are the focus of at least two criminal scandals and at least six new discrimination complaints.
Sometimes, the City Commission and the city manager uncannily resemble the ineptitude portrayed by the actors in “Dumb and Dumber.”
This is one of those times.
And like with the Cutliff Grove matter, it’s apparently going to take the citizenry to convince the City Commission members that this isn’t Hollywood and the damage they are doing to the community is bona fide.

Well the truth be told. There are many who are dangerous in Albany Georgia such as lawyers, police, commission, pastors and many more. They work together just to hide behind each other. But there is a very true saying that eventually shine light on the subject. “What ever you do in the dark will one day come to light.”
I can’t believe people don’t seem to think that Adams is at least as dangerous as Lott if not more dangerous to tax payers.
