Family grateful for effort to help Hunter Etheridge

By   /   September 10, 2010  /   Comments

Editor’s note: Hope for Hunter is a fund-raising effort to build an indoor playroom for Hunter Etheridge, an 11-year-old boy who was born with mitochondrial disease and was recently diagnosed with autonomic dysfunction. More information is on the “Hope for Hunter” page on Facebook, or you can call 436-2828. This letter is from Hunter’s mother.

Thank you to The Albany Journal for promoting the Hope for Hunter yard sale. It did so well that people wanted to donate more items so we can have another one! So the second yard sale will be held Oct. 2 in the vacant lot next to AAA Self Storage on U.S. 19 North.

On Oct. 15, there will be a chili cook-off at Trinity Lutheran Church on Whispering Pines Road. And on Oct. 24, we are going to have a benefit concert for Hunter at Darton College. The bands that have agreed to play so far are The Pointe Band, Mac George Band and the headliner will be Landis Frier. We would like one or two more bands to play, as well. There also will be a silent auction.

Many wonderfully caring people in the community have given financial contributions, donated items for the yard sale, or helped to sell BBQ tickets. I have compiled a list of people and businesses who are contributing to Hope for Hunter. I am praying I am not forgetting anyone. Here it is:

Jack Daniel Garrett Construction, The Barber Shop, US Sign and Print, Steve Cox Inc., Dougherty Blueprint and Supply, Lewis Tree Service, Tree Tech, Sizemore Plumbing, Concrete Enterprises, Tri-County Ready Mix Concrete, Gerdau Ameristeel, S&S Concrete, Clay Etheridge, Brian’s Tractor Service, Hatcher Tractor Service, Home Depot-Cordele and Albany, Short & Paulk, Pro Build, Habitat for Humanity, Flint River Material, Southeastern Truss Co., Lowe’s, Modern Gas, Bill Wilson, Paul Sturgess, Lyle Mathis, Barnhart Air-conditioning Services, Wetherald Drywall, Randy and AB Stroud, Robins Insulation-Charles Proctor, South Georgia Paint and Wall Covering, Professional Plumbing, Floor Mechanix, Inc., Logan Interior and Trim, Advantage Vinyl Siding, Richter Roofing, Mark’s Greenhouse, the Langreder family, Katie Bagwell, Brooke Potts, Kelsey Sims, Courtney Brim, Ken Merritt, Bobby Jenkins, the Alverez family, Randolph Pate, Gwen Lower, Barbara Logan, Coach Mark Richt, Paul Stillson, The Donut Factory, Southwest Georgia Medical Center, Dawson Pawn, The Albany Herald-Daniel Kay, the Lee County Ledger, The Albany Journal, WALB News Center 10, WFXL Channel 31, Bank of Lee County, Trinity Lutheran Church’s members, Shepherds Fold Church’s members, Albany Lighting, Pearly’s, AAR Self Storage, AAA Self Storage, Sherwood Christian Academy, Health Products Plus, Lacy McCarty-Remax Reality, Roy Hanks, Landis Frier, The Pointe Band, Mac George Band, Darton College, Winn Dixie, Meatslangers and Lamarr Parr.
