The Albany State University Lady Rams picked up a win Saturday night after defeating the Benedict College Lady Tigers 3-2 at ASU’s HPER Gymnasium. The Lady Rams lost the first game 19-25, and won the second game 25-20. The Lady Tigers took game three 25-20, but the Lady Rams that cruised to an easy 25-12 game four win. The Lady Rams sealed the victory after winning the final game 15-11. The Lady Rams improved their record to 10-3 on the season and 8-1 in SIAC play.
Latrice Lewis and Sabrina Garcia led the Lady Rams with 18 kills each. Lewis, who also scored on a service ace, led the Lady Rams’ defense with 19 digs, and Adrienne Morris added 16. Garcia added five digs and a block assist. Amber Gatlin and Tiffany Butler added five kills each and Butler had four solo blocks.
Priscila Sena had 44 assists, 10 digs, two kills and a service ace for the Lady Rams.
The Lady Rams will play on Sunday against Claflin University at 3 p.m. at the ASU HPER Gymnasium. The Lady Rams will close the month on Sept. 29 in a home match against Valdosta State University at 6 p.m.
