Six Darton College students have been named as Academic All-Americans for 2009-10 by the National Junior College Athletic Association.
The Cavaliers selected for the distinguished honor are:
Distinguished All-Americans: Alexandra Kralman (women’s swimming and diving); Kenneth Phillips (baseball)
Samantha Worthy (women’s basketball)
Academic All-Americans: Amanda Burnette (women’s swimming and diving); Ashley Holt (women’s basketball); Natalia Movotova (softball)
Fourteen other students at Georgia community colleges received the honor.
Distinguished Academic All-American. The criteria for the selection are:
1. The student-athlete must have completed three full-time semesters or four full-time quarters of college work.
2. Must have participated in at least one season at the varsity level at the college from which he/she is nominated.
3. 3.80 or better on a 4.00 scale for 60 quarter hours or 45 semester hours for Distinguished Academic All-American.
4. 3.60 to 3.79 on a 4.00 scale for 60 quarter hours or 45 semester hours for Academic All-American.
