First Baptist Church of Albany will hold its Girls in Action Recognition Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. The ceremony, which follows a meal at 5:15 p.m., will recognize activities and studies of missions that participating girls in grades 1-6 have completed throughout the year. Thursday, May 20

The Shepherds from Sandersville, Ga., will perform at Liberty Baptist Church at 7 p.m. in the festivities hall. Admission is free; a love offering will be collected. Info: Frank Story at (229) 485-6161.

Sunday, May 23

First Baptist Church of Albany’s Young Musicians and Music Makers will present the musical “Back at the Creekbank” at 5:30 p.m.

Albany-area churches of various denominations will host a neighbor-to-neighbor giveaway at Thronateeska Heritage Center. New and gently used clothing, shoes and other items will be given away and additional churches are invited to participate. Dayspring Trio will perform at Mercedes Baptist Church at 5 p.m. Admission is free; a love offering will be received. Info: Rick Luten at 928-3653 or rdluten@hotmail.com.

Wednesday, May 26

First Baptist Church of Albany’s Music Ministry will present Spring Spectacular at 6:30 p.m. Accompanied by First Baptist’s House Band, the informal worship event will feature a combined choir consisting of First Baptist’s Youth, Adult and Senior Adult choirs singing familiar songs of the faith, or sugarsticks, such as “Do Lord,” “I’m in the Lord’s Army,” “Jesus Loves Me” and “The B-I-B-L-E.” Spring Spectacular will follow a meal, which begins at 5:15 p.m.

Saturday, June 5

Berea Full Gospel, 1111 Fifth Ave., will have a yard sale.

Sunday, July 4

Pastor Clifford Hill, who does a 5-minute morning devotion on WWVO The Voice 90.7 FM, will preach at Southside Baptist Church on Radium Springs road.
