There is an old saying — one that Atticus Finch paraphrased in To Kill a Mockingbird: “You can’t really understand another person’s experience until you’ve walked a mile in someone else’s shoes.” Organizers of Walk a Mile in Her Shoes are recruiting Albany-area men (including, from left, Greg Blackmon, Jason Dunn, J.C. Phillips and Dr. Doug Patten) to literally walk one mile in women’s high-heeled shoes. “It won’t be easy, but we guarantee that you’ll have fun while at the same time helping educate our community about something that is difficult to talk about — sexual violence,” said Caitlyn Cooper of the Lily Pad, the beneficiary of the fund-raiser at 9 a.m. Saturday at Deerfield-Windsor School’s upper campus track.
