The Darton College Baseball team was swept this weekend by conference opponent Gordon College.

In Friday’s game, the Cavs surrendered 9 runs in the third inning and eventually fell 15-8. Tag Lanier was 3 for 5 in the game hitting his sixth homerun of the season and collecting five RBI’s. Freddy Garay also added two hits of his own, both doubles.

In the first game on Saturday the Cavs fell 7-4. The game was tight and the Cavs squandered opportunities allowing three unearned runs, which was the difference.

Drew Shields was 2 of 4 with one RBI. He is still hitting over .400.

Game three was another tight one as the Cavs had the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh with the go ahead run at the plate.

A couple of miscues late were the Cavs downfall. The final was 5-2.

The Cavs will host Brewton Parker JV on Monday in a two game set followed by a non-conference game vs. ABAC on Tuesday, which is also at home.
