DON’T SEND DON BUIE to Dawson. We have enough crooks here, thanks.
WOW, I THINK I am going to become a thief. I could steal from people just get slapped on the hand. Criminals have better rights than honest people. Way to go, Albany. Good to set an example.
THANK GOODNESS, JUDGE MARSHALL was over the Buie case or he probably would have had to write 500 lines, “I WILL NOT STEAL FROM THE GOVERNMENT ANYMORE.”
I AM NOT ECSTATIC about the Buie outcome. However, with the fact that they had a hung jury, it was better than waiting it out and it ending some other way that was even less appropriate.
HOW DO YOU HAVE a hung jury? That thief stole money, end of discussion.
YOU GET A HUNG jury when you are railroaded regardless of color. You do not let certain people and hold the rest accountable. Mr. Buie should have just gotten probation and restitution. People need to get over themselves and accept that you are not in control anymore. Many of you need to admit that you are still racist and ask God to change you because you belong of a dying breed that has long outlived your time. When it comes down to it, people are people and human nature is human nature. Only dividing line is skin color and culture.
THE $5,000 BUIE HAS to pay is restitution, not a fine.
THE BUIE OUTCOME IS the final nail in the coffin for Albany and its leadership. Its over, your town is laid to rest.
BUIE DOES IT TO Albany again. He is fined $5,000 and that won’t even cover the cost to keep him in jail for a year. Wow, sweet deal for him slap on the wrist and a paid one-year vacation. What about repaying the damages he has done to Albany and the taxpayers that have to foot the bill for this second-time thief. Crime does not pay? Well, in Albany it sure does not cost much if you get caught even for a second time.
THE GENERAL PUBLIC DOES care about current political scandals and ethics in government. There just not obsessed with it. Many actually live their lives without ever following a blog, much less responding with a comment, and that’s just fine. But come election time, they usually come around and pay enough attention to try and elect a candidate they like. If the voting public is as useless as some believe, we would probably have lost all our rights and freedom a long time ago to unscrupulous politicians. Blogs such as SWGAPolitics.com are instrumental in getting vital unbiased information to them when they will need it the most … come election time.
DO YOU REALLY THINK even a simple majority of people in Albany know who Glenn Richardson is? And likeability is a poor measure of a politician.
I DON’T REALLY ASK a lot from my politicians. My criteria for “liking” a candidate comes down to one thing – will he represent me and my family in an honorable manner in which he protects our safety and freedom. And while many in Albany may not know who Glenn Richardson is, hopefully come election time they will know who our statewide candidates are.
WHAT A GREAT IDEA! Citizens policing their government instead of the other way around. I think we could all agree on that one. While I love my state and am.
proud to call myself a Georgian, I will be the first to tell you Georgia is one really corrupt state. Citizens living in our state’s rural areas know exactly what I’m talking about.
Austin Scott’s statewide grand jury bill gives the citizens a real chance to expose and stop some of that corruption
