Friday, Nov. 13

An evening of bluegrass gospel singing featuring The Cumbie Family will be held beginning at 7 at Baconton United Methodist Church, 186 E. Walton St. Admission is free and refreshments will be served; a love offering will be accepted. Info: Joyce Rogers at 436-2041.

The Singing Echos will perform at 7 p.m. at Kinchafoonee Baptist Church, 219 Century Road in Leesburg. A love offering will be received.

Saturday, Nov. 14

First United Methodist Church of Albany, 307 Flint Ave., will host the acclaimed “Focus on Parenting” workshop from 9:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the church’s Ford Hall. The $30 tickets ($55 per couple) include a boxed lunch and child care. Info: bboyd@fumcalbanyga.org or 432-7407.

Sunday, Nov. 15

Former Arkansas governor and Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee will sign his new book, “Do the Right Thing,” at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15 at Sherwood Baptist Church, 2201 Whispering Pines Road. Huckabee is the host of the NO. 1-rated “HUCKABEE” show on Fox News Channel, and broadcasts the “Huckabee Report” on the ABC Radio Network. He is the author of six books; “Do the Right Thing spent its first seven weeks of release on the New York Times Bestseller List. Info: 883-191

Mount Zion Baptist Church, 1905 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, will celebrate Missionary Day at its services at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Info: 432-6837.

Friday, Nov. 27

The Legends of Gospel Music, Ron Blackwood and The Blackwood Brothers, The Chuck Wagon Gang and The Florida Boys will perform beginning at 7 at Randolph-Southern in Shellman. First Baptist Church is recruiting coaches, referees, devotional leaders, scorekeepers and children for the upcoming Upward basketball season. Info: Alex Tinsley at 883-7280.
