
Jean Russ Geiger, 83, of Albany, died Sunday, Nov., 1, 2009 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Her funeral services will be 11 AM, Wednesday, Nov., 4, 2009, graveside at Crown Hill Cemetery. Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors is handling the arrangements.
A native of Norman Park, Ga., Mrs. Geiger lived in Albany since 1930. She was the owner of Russ Clothing for more than 40 years in Albany and she was the oldest continual member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and a past member of First Baptist of Albany for more than 30 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Oscar Love, and Gertie Bell Baker Love, her brother Harvey Love, and her first husband, Lamar “Bubba” Russ.
She is survived by her husband, James Robert Paul Gieger of Albany; two sons: Lamar George “Rusty” Russ Jr. of Albany, and Judson Windell Russ and his wife Natasha of Orlando, FL; two daughters Darleene R. Kilgore, and her husband Willis Strickland and Lenoria “Dee” Carson, and her husband Anthony all of Leesburg; one step-daughter, Karen Kemp and her husband Scott of Albany, four granddaughters: Kimberly Potter Turnipseed, Stephanie Russ, Nicole Russ, and Lindsey Jean Russ and 2 step-granddaughters, Caitlyn and Kellen Cooper of Albany.
