David C. James, 72, of 2303 Longwood Drive died Friday, October, 23, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services were held at Sunday at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. John Spencer and Rev. Bobby Harrell officiated. Interment was in Leesburg Cemetery.
Mr. James was born in Clinch County to the late Carroway and Inez Mixon James. Mr. James lived in Albany since 1960 moving from Tifton. He was formerly employed with Oxford Construction Co. and retired from Reeves Construction Co.
Mr. James was currently employed with Hatcher Tractor Co. as an estimator and was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church. Mr. James enjoyed golf, fishing and telling tall tales. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Earl James.
Survivors include his wife, Candy James, and his mother-in-law, Norma Hogg of Albany, two daughters, Jackie Norman and Teri Underwood and her husband, Kevin, all of Lee County, five grandchildren, Cory Norman, Deanna Norman, Matt Norman and his wife, Shay, Lane Albritton and her husband, Ealum and Kevin Underwood Jr. and his wife, Ashley, all of Lee County and three great-grandchildren, Katelynn Albritton, Ealum Albritton and Ashlynn Underwood.
